日常の延長線上にあるにぎわい A Lively Moment Along the Extension of Everyday Life
地域の方や家族連れが集まり、会場は終始にぎやかな雰囲気。2月14日・15日、大崎上島で「すみれまつり」が開催されました。私たちは15日の夕方に会場を訪れました。
けれどそのにぎわいはどこかやわらかく、「特別なイベント」というよりも、島の日常が少しだけ広がったような空気を感じました。
顔なじみ同士が声をかけ合い、子どもたちが走り回り、それを見守る大人たちがいる。
すみれまつりは、そんな島らしい時間の延長線上にありました。
On February 14th and 15th, the “Sumire Festival” was held on Osakikamijima Island.
We visited the event on the 15th.
Local residents and families gathered, and the area was lively throughout the event. Yet the atmosphere felt like an extension of everyday island life rather than a special occasion.
Familiar faces greeted one another, children ran freely, and adults watched over them with warm smiles.
歩きながら生まれる、ささやかな交流 Small Connections Born While Walking
会場にはさまざまな屋台が並び、歩きながら楽しめるのも魅力のひとつです。
タピオカドリンクやレモネード、ポークサンド、こんにゃく、ポテトフライ、りんご飴。
おまつりらしい食べ物が並び、多くの人でにぎわっていました。
食べ歩きをしながら誰かに出会い、立ち止まって少し話す。
食べ物をきっかけに自然と会話が生まれる風景は、このおまつりならではの心地よさです。
Various food stalls lined the venue, making it enjoyable to explore while walking around.
Tapioca drinks, lemonade, pork sandwiches, konjac, French fries, and candy apples. Festival favorites filled the space and drew many visitors.
As people walked around and ate, they ran into friends, paused to chat, and shared small moments together. Seeing conversations naturally emerge through food created a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere unique to this island festival.
会場がひとつになった瞬間 A Moment When the Venue Became One
ビンゴ大会では、番号が発表されるたびに歓声が上がります。子どもも大人も同じようにカードを見つめ、当たった人を周囲が一緒に喜ぶ姿が印象的でした。
景品以上に、「同じ時間を共有している」という一体感が、会場全体を包んでいたように思います。
During the bingo game, cheers rose each time a number was called.
People of all age focused on their bingo cards. When a winner was announced, those nearby celebrated together. It was the feeling of sharing the same moment that united the entire venue more than the prizes itself.
島のみかんを味わう一杯 A Taste of the Island’s Citrus
会場では「岩崎農園カフェ」のみかんスムージーもいただきました。
大崎上島産のみかんを使った一杯は、ほどよい甘さとさっぱりとした後味が印象的で、歩き回ったあとにぴったりの味わいでした。
親しみのある島のみかんも、こうした場で味わうと、あらためてその魅力に気づかされます。
We also enjoyed an orange smoothie from Iwasaki Farm Café.
Made with locally grown Osakikamijima oranges, the drink had a refreshing sweetness and a light finish, perfect for after walking around the festival. Tasting a familiar local fruit in this setting allowed us to rediscover the islands charm.
おまつりの先にあるもの What Lies Beyond the Festival
すみれまつりは、食や催しを楽しむ場であると同時に、人と人とのつながりを確かめ合う時間でもありました。
にぎやかさの中にある穏やかさ。
その空気こそが、この島らしさなのかもしれません。
イベントが終われば、島はまた静かな日常へと戻ります。
けれど、そこで交わされた言葉や笑顔は、それぞれの心に残り続けるはずです。
すみれまつりを通して、私たちはあらためて、島のあたたかさを感じました。
これからも、日常の延長線上にある風景を、丁寧に届けていきたいと思います。
The Sumire Festival was not only a place to enjoy food and activities, but also a time for people to reconnect with one another.
When the festival ended, the island returned to its quiet daily rhythm. Yet the conversations and smiles shared there will remain with each person who attended.
Through the Sumire Festival, we were once again reminded of the warmth of this island.
We hope to continue sharing these moments; the scenes that exist just beyond everyday life, with care and appreciation.
