大串厳島神社への訪問から3ヶ月が過ぎ、蒸し暑い日が続いている大串地区。
日が穏やかになってきた夕方に、大串海岸を歩いてみました。
波の音が静かに響き、太陽の光が水面にきらきら反射していて、時間がゆっくり流れているように感じます。
観光地というより、島の日常が見える場所。
それが大串海岸の魅力だと、あらためて思いました。
3 months have passed since we visited the Itsukushima Shrine, and the days have become hot and humid. As the sun started to set, we took some time to walk by the Okushi beach.
The sound of the ocean waves echoed in the silence, and sunlight was reflecting brightly from the water. Time seemed to slow down.
Okushi beach is not much of a tourist destination, but more of where we are able to see the beauty and origins of the island.
7月19日から海開き！ 夏の大串海岸がはじまる
大串海岸では、今年も7月19日から海開きが行われます。
この日は、地元の人も、島外から来た人も、海辺に集まってにぎやかになることでしょう。
私たちが取材に訪れた5時過ぎでも、海岸からは楽しそうな声が聞こえてきました。
友達と、家族と、一人で、ペットと……大串海岸には、たくさんの“ひと”の姿がありました。
海は、特別なイベントがなくても、地域の人たちの日常といつもつながっている場所なんだと感じました。
Okushi beach opens to the public from July 19th! Summer begins!
The Okushi beach will once again be opened to the public for access on July 19th this year. On this day, many people visit the beach. From those who live on the island, to tourists, the beach becomes a place where many incredible memories are made.
We visited the beach at 5pm, and even then, we heard the sounds of people having fun. Friends, family, pets, or even alone, the beach was filled with many different people. We realized that the Okushi beach is able to attract people without any special events, and it shows the true beauty of this beach.
キャンプやシーカヤックも体験できる
大串海岸では、キャンプやシーカヤック体験も楽しめます。
テントを張ってゆっくり過ごすグループや、青い海の上をスーッと進んでいくカヤックの姿も見かけました。
近くにある「大串キャンプ場」では、予約制でキャンプやアウトドア体験ができます。
アウトドアが初めてでも、海と山に囲まれた場所だからこそ、安心して楽しめるのが魅力です。
Outdoor experiences at Okushi Beach
At Okushi beach, visitors are able to enjoy camping and kayaking. There are people who bring their tents and relax in the camp site next to the beach, and also people who kayak across the beautiful blue sea.
The camp site located next to the shore is called “大串キャンプ場(Ōkushi camp jō)”. The site can be used with a reservation. Even for those who do not go camping often, this camping site is a place where you can enjoy both the sceneries of the mountain and beach.
おわりに
大串海岸は、いろんな人が交わる場所。
みんながそれぞれの時間を過ごしているのに、どこかつながりがあるような、あたたかい空気が流れていました。
高校生の私たちにとっても、子ども時代から慣れ親しんだこの海岸は、大人になってもきっと忘れられない、大切な風景になると思います。
この夏、少し足をのばして、大串海岸で新しい出会いや景色を探してみてはいかがでしょうか。
Finally,
The Okushi beach is a place where people merge. Although everyone is doing their own activity, there is a sense of connection between all of the visitors. For us high school students, the Okushi beach, a place we have felt close to throughout our childhood years, will always hold a special place in our hearts as we grow up.
